The Ethical Review Committee (ERC) is an Independent Institutional Review Board established in 1988 to provide for timely, expert review of all types of clinical projects in order to meet regulatory requirements for the protection of human research subjects. Services are available on a contractual basis to sponsors of research, contract research organizations, and practitioners.
Since it’s inception, the company’s philosophy has been to build lasting relationships with our business partners by providing personal and efficient service while promoting quality service to the research community through human research protection.
We apply this same approach in all aspects of our business, including our Committee schedule. The board is scheduled to meet each month. Additional meetings are set on a flexible schedule around the specific needs of our clients.
Our staff works efficiently to provide responsive, consistent communication with our submitters. This results in less time from submission to Committee determination without sacrificing the quality of the board member's review. Once our board has reached a determination, the standard time for release of the documentation is typically 1 to 2 days. Reviews of Investigator credentials for multi-center clinical trials are conducted three times weekly.
The ERC understands that timeliness is imperative in this industry and commits to utilizing the time invested for IRB review to strengthen the quality of your project by working with you to ensure subject safety.
